Religious giving HARO has already delivered
Zakat al-Fitr, Udhiya and Ramadan programs from HARO's field record.
- 2010Udhiya meat reached displaced families on the outskirts of Mogadishu, and more than 200 goats and sheep were distributed across Borama, Hargeisa, Burao, Bosaso, Garowe and Hiiraan.
- 2012Eid al-Adha meat — camel, cattle and goat — delivered to more than 1,500 families in Mogadishu camps, including a camp for blind and deaf people.
- 2013Zakat al-Fitr project packaged 50 kg of rice for each of 403 families across three Kismayo camps; Udhiya reached families in Mogadishu, Galkayo and Baidoa.
- 2014Ramadan iftar and Zakat al-Fitr in Wadajir reached more than 600 people; Qurbani in camps around Mogadishu and Baidoa prioritised families with disabled members.
- 2015Zakat al-Fitr flour and rice from North American donors distributed in Wadajir and Hodan; over 200 orphans in Garowe received Eid cash for new clothes.
- 2018Zakat al-Fitr donated by the Somali community in the USA distributed as 25 kg flour sacks in Mogadishu, alongside Eid clothes for over 200 orphans.
- 2020Qurbani Program 1441 carried out in Eyl, Nugaal, with HARO field staff handling the sacrifice and distribution.
- 2023Zakat al-Fitr Program reached families across Sool region as conflict displaced thousands.
- 2024Zakat al-Fitr distributed in Kalabayr, Nugaal, alongside the Ramadan Iftar Program in Garowe and the Qurbani Program at Eid al-Adha.
