Care HARO has already delivered

Hospital support, medicines and health campaigns from HARO's field record.

  1. 2011An assessment mission to Mogadishu’s IDP camps found no clinic in or near the camps and organised mobile health clinic visits and ambulances with partners.
  2. 2013Relief for more than 200 blind and vision-impaired families in Wadajir, and mattresses for the Ahlu-Khayr psychiatric hospital in Mogadishu.
  3. 2014A month of running costs for the School of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Puntland after the cyclone, and support for a family living with severe mental illness.
  4. 2017Urgent medicines and IV fluids delivered to Dhahar Hospital as waterborne disease spread during the drought — then a new inpatient ward, funded and opened by HARO with a doctor and nurses to staff it.
  5. 2017After the October 14 Mogadishu bombing, funds collected with the Islamic Association of North America were hand-delivered to the injured and bereaved.
  6. 2020A community COVID-19 awareness campaign with Puntland’s Ministry of Health, face-mask distributions, and medical supply deliveries in Mogadishu.
  7. 2021Urgent Need for Hospital Equipment appeal for De Martino Hospital, Mogadishu’s COVID-19 isolation centre, after 50 deaths in two and a half weeks.
  8. 2023Medicines and supplies delivered to hospitals across Sool region — Laascaanood, Garagar, Fayo, Jaamacada Nugaal and Kala Beydh — as conflict displaced thousands.
  9. 2024Hospital beds, wheelchairs and an anesthesia machine shipped and delivered to health facilities in Somalia.
  10. 2025An anesthesia machine delivered to Erigavo Manhal Hospital in Sanaag region on April 21.
